The Story of Shining Vessels Academy The educational journey of Shining Vessels Academy began in September 2019. The school was founded by Dr. Michael Mensah-Twumasi and his wife, Mrs. Elvira Mensah-Twumasi, with a shared vision to transform lives through quality education. Dr. Michael Mensah-Twumasi is an eye specialist who completed his medical and postgraduate training at Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 1995 and 2000 respectively. He returned to Ghana in January 2001 to serve with the Ghana Health Service. After eight years of dedicated service, he established his private practice, Charity Eye Centre, in October 2008. Knowing firsthand how education shaped his own life, Dr. Mensah-Twumasi, together with his wife, decided to establish Shining Vessels Academy. Their goal: to provide an educational platform that equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking needed to solve complex personal and national challenges for the good of all. Shining Vessels Academy was built with the interests of children at heart. Our classrooms and compound were intentionally designed to provide a serene and conducive environment suitable for effective teaching and learning.

Our Growth
We began with the Preschool Department and have since expanded to include Lower Primary, Upper Primary, and now the Junior High School (JHS) level. The school currently runs the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum.

Our Team
We are supported by a dedicated team of about 20 teaching staff and 7 non-teaching staff who work together to nurture every child.

Key Programs
To prepare our students for the future, we run important programs including: STEM – Developing problem-solving skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math CODING – Building digital literacy and creativity in our students EDTECH/LMS – Enhancing teaching and learning through technology and digital platforms
